Grow healthy fruits and veggies and support Lakeview!

It's nearly planting season!Plantables School Fundraiser

Lakeview School Council is very excited to announce that we’ve chosen to be a part of the Plantables School Fundraising Program for 2021. Plantables is a local company that ships healthy fruit and vegetable plants straight to your door. Last year, with everyone at home, there was a shortage of plants. We don’t want you to miss out this year!

Support Lakeview and get your garden growing in 3 easy steps:

  1. Visit to build a kit or order individual plants.
  2. Choose your delivery date.
  3. Use the code LAKEVIEW at checkout and Lakeview Council will receive a portion of the proceeds.

Anyone can order, so please share with your friends and family!

Who are Plantables?

Plantables are an exciting new startup based in Forest, Ontario that grow healthy, hardy and happy fruit and vegetable plants and ship them to arrive at your door exactly when they need to go into the ground. That means that no matter how busy you are, how unsuccessful you’ve been at growing plants before or how many little hands want to help out, you’ll be able to grow brag-worthy fruits and veggies in no time. All you have to do is pick what plants you want to grow, choose when you want them delivered and wait for your box of garden-ready plants to arrive on your doorstep.

Lakeview Family Support Fund update

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected us all in so many ways – as a school, as a community, and, of course, as individuals. The Family Support Fund has been open for two weeks and it has been a success. To date we have raised over $1500!

If you are interested in donating, there is still time. Here are the details:

We have set up a donation fund to help support Lakeview families in need during this time. Our principal, Jennifer Capitani, will work closely with the families in need to ensure the funds are distributed accordingly.

Any excess funds raised will be donated to The Education Foundation of Ottawa which supports all students in the OCDSB.

As we are not a registered charity but rather families helping other families in a very challenging time, we are unable to provide a tax receipt. We thank you for your understanding.

If you have already signed-up for the remaining pizza days and would like to donate those funds please send an email to to let them know.

If you are finding yourself in need of support at this time, please reach out to our Principal, Jennifer Capitani (

School Council Meetings

The OCDSB has directed schools to cancel School Council meetings going forward for the 2019-2020 school year. We are required to have 5 meetings annually, and our School Council at Lakeview has already met this requirement. If you would like to contact our council co-chairs, please email Aron and Michael at

Access to Lakeview Public School

For the foreseeable future OCDSB does not plan to allow teacher or parent access to the school to retrieve items. As more information becomes available, Principal Capitani will keep our school community informed.
