Lakeview School Council is made up of Lakeview parents who work together to raise money for school programs. Below are the results of two recent fundraisers and how the funds will be used.
Family Dance and Bingo Night
This event earned about $1100, enough to purchase 3 new Chromebooks for Lakeview classrooms! The Chromebooks have been ordered and are on their way.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year was a lot of fun and raised over $4000! These funds will go directly to the school to help fund classroom/technology enhancements as well as various school activities and events.

Have you met our new principal, Jennifer Capitani, yet? Come to the last Council meeting of the year on Tuesday, June 12th, at 6:45 pm in the school library.

Thanks to everyone who supported and attended Lakeview’s 25th annual Mayfair on Saturday. It was a day full of fun for the community and fundraising for Lakeview with fabulous student performances, yummy treats, parrots, prizes, and flying pies!

Mayfair 2018 is almost here! It will be a great day for the community to come together, have some fun, and raise money for Lakeview programs (rain or shine).
Thank you to those who have signed up to volunteer! But we still need more help. For example, we need 4 more people to help with the Mini Fair Games (1-hour shifts). If we don’t have volunteers, this fun activity will be cancelled. Can you spare an hour? High School students are welcome to volunteer as well. SIGN UP HERE!
There are other ways you can help too, such as set-up on Friday night (free pizza!), so please take a look at the sign-up sheet.
All volunteers will receive a complimentary food ticket for our delicious BBQ!
Other Mayfair reminders:
- Drop off your baked goods and plants for the Bake Sale and Plant Sale on Friday evening or Saturday morning.
- Some of the roads around the school will be closed between 8:45 am and 9:45 am for the bike parade. Parking is available at Corkstown pool.
We are now collecting donations for our Mayfair Book & Toy Sale and Mason Jar Sale. Clean out those basements and help with these great fundraisers!
Book & Toy Sale
We need gently used books, DVDs, toys, puzzles, games, video games/gaming electronics and small entertainment electronics. All items must be clean and in working condition with all the pieces intact. Drop items off in the front entrance of the school from May 14th until May 25th. No Saturday drop-offs, please.
Mason Jar Sale
Bring in small items like: wrapped treats/goodies, small toys/cars/figurines, kids’ jewelry, Lego/building blocks, craft/art supplies – things that kids would like. Please put items in bags (no mason jars needed). Drop items off in the front entrance of the school from May 7th until May 21st.
Help Barbie with some clothes!
A large number of Barbie dolls were donated to us for our Mason Jars & Book/Toy Sale but unfortunately most didn’t have clothing included. If you have any to spare, please consider donating them. All barbie clothing can be dropped off at the front Mayfair table.

The Mayfair volunteer sign-up sheet is now available! Please consider helping to set things up on Friday (May 25th) or sharing an hour of your time during Mayfair (May 26th). For example, you can sell food tickets, hand out food orders, help at the bake sale or book sale, or join the clean-up crew.

The Lunch Lady is the newest addition to our Lunch Program. We’re glad to see lots of orders coming in and the kids enjoying it!
Due to the types of food that are delivered from the Lunch Lady program, there is a lot of recyclable packaging that ends up in the school garbage bins. We would like to request that you ask your kids to bring the packaging home so that it can be recycled properly.

We are getting organized for our Mayfair Book & Toy sale.
As we do every year, we are looking to borrow your:
- plastic tubs/bins with lids to store/transport all our sale items
- plastic baskets and various organization bins big enough to fit books of various sizes, small toys and so on, are also highly needed
- also, anyone that has a workplace who orders those big boxes of copy paper – the cardboard lids for those boxes are very useful for keeping adults chapter books upright for display.
Please consider looking for some of those cardboard lids and pulling out any organization bins that you may have. The more we have, the easier it will be to keep our sorting station organized and enable the volunteers to easily move everything to the classroom on set-up night.
Drop off any of the above at the front of the school, near the drop-off table for mason jar items/book toy sale items.
Please be sure to label all your bins. After Mayfair, they will be left along the brick wall in the kinder wing for you to pick up.
