In partnership Green Communities Canada and the Active and Safe Routes to School Movement, we are happy to tell parents that Lakeview Public School will be undertaking development of a School Travel Plan (STP) that focuses on working with multiple stakeholders to assess and address barriers to active school travel. This means increasing awareness, undertaking improvements to create an environment where students can walk or bike to school safely. In the fall of 2014, we will be surveying parents and students about active and safe routes to school and hope that with all of your support, we can improve the safety of our neighbourhoods as well as promote the health benefits of walking or biking to school.
