Volunteers needed for Family Movie Night

VolunteerWe are looking for a volunteer to run our Movie Night and a few additional volunteers to help out.

In past years the movie night has been a great community building activity. We take over the gym at Lakeview, families are invited to bring a comfy blanket and some pillows, and we settle in for a fun, family-oriented movie.

If this is your first time volunteering, we have many members of the council who will gladly provide information on how to set up a successful event.

If you are interested, please email Chair@lakeviewschoolcouncil.ca.

Thanks for coming out to Movie Night!

Our Family PJ Movie Night on February 22nd was a huge success with lots of Lakeview families enjoying the movie, Trolls, together. The event raised over $350 to go towards Lakeview programs to benefit all students. Thanks for supporting Lakeview and thanks to our volunteers who made it happen!

This Friday is Movie Night

We are trying something new!

We will show two movies concurrently: Toy Story for the younger students (JK to grade 3) in the gym, and The Secret Life of Pets for Grades 4 and 5 in the library. Because food is not allowed in the library, we will have an “intermission” to allow the students time to enjoy their snacks at tables set up in the hall.

Please note: As always, all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at movie night. However, parent volunteers will be supervising the kids in the library so that parents with children in both places can accompany their younger children in the gym.

Admission details

When: January 27th at 6:30 pm
Admission: $2.00 per person
Bring 2 food donations for FAMSAC & receive one admission free! (one per family only)

Snacks

Hot dogs, popcorn and apples will be sold.
We are asking all families to please bring your own water bottles to fill up at the school’s water fountains.

Volunteers are needed to make movie night a success!

Please sign up here to help out.

Family Movie Night – Friday April 1st

Paddington movie I M D BCome join us for our final movie night of the year on Friday, April 1st! We are featuring the movie, Paddington. The movie is about a young bear from the jungles of Peru with a passion for all things British who travels to London in search of a home. Read the Parent Guide for Paddington.

Admission is $2.00, and if you bring a non-perishable food donation you will receive one admission free (1 per family). Food collected will be donated to FAMSAC, our local food bank.

Proceeds from this event will be used to support bus transportation for upcoming field trips. We will also be offering our usual movie night snacks (hotdogs, popcorn, and ring-pops – and, bring your own refillable water bottle).
