Update on Hot Lunches ordering

Given the closure of the school for the 2 weeks following March Break, we have made the following adjustments to the Hot Lunches programs:

  • The last pizza and popcorn days from Term 2, which were scheduled for March 25th and 27th, will be rescheduled to when school starts back up. We will update you with the exact dates when more information is available.
  • Ordering for Term 3 has been paused for now. Once we know when the school will re-open, we will re-start Hot Lunches ordering for the remainder of Term 3.
  • For those who have already placed their Term 3 orders, we will issue refunds once we know how many weeks of Term 3 remain.

Welcome Family Dance Night. Proudly sponsored by the Lakeview School Council

What: Welcome Family Dance Night
When: Friday, October 18, 2019, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Where: Lakeview Public School, 35 Corkstown Rd, Nepean, ON K2H 7V4

Proudly sponsored by your Lakeview School Council, the event is open to all Lakeview PS students and their immediate family members. Come meet your school council and other families, and join us in the school gym for music and dancing.

Council will also be offering complimentary pre-ordered pizza. In order to receive your FREE slice of pizza and drinks for your family, you MUST fill out the online pizza pre-order form by Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

Glow sticks and other treats will be available for purchase. Any extra pizza and drinks may be sold after everyone has picked up their orders, but we cannot guarantee that extra will be available.

All children attending MUST BE supervised by an adult at all times during the event — in the school or outside.

Pizza Day ordering is open!

Online ordering is open for Term 1 of the Pizza lunch program. The deadline for Term 1 (Oct. 9 – Dec. 11) is October 3rd. A flyer will be coming home soon, and further information on ordering can be found on the Lunch Programs page. Reminder: you must register at hotlunches.net (even if you were registered last year) before placing your order. The school code is: LVHL

Our lunch programs raise funds for projects to benefit Lakeview students. (They also give parents a break from making lunches!)

Please note that we are no longer using PayPal to process online payments. We now use a payment gateway called Bambora. There is no need to create an account with Bambora; it simply acts as a secure gateway for processing your credit card payment.

What about popcorn?? We are still in need of a popcorn coordinator. Unfortunately, we cannot offer the popcorn until this position is filled. Please consider spending 30 minutes every two weeks organizing the popcorn for each classroom. If you have time to offer, please contact lakeviewhotlunches@gmail.com.

What about pita days?? Due to low demand, we are no longer offering Pita Pit wraps as part of our Hot Lunches Program.

Volunteers needed for Pizza and Popcorn Days

In order to continue our Hot Lunches Program, we need volunteers who can give a little bit of their time a couple of times a month. This program raises funds for Lakeview School and gives parents a break from making lunches. Can you help?

Pizza Days

Volunteers are needed to distribute pizza on Wednesdays. Three to four people work together at the first lunch break to organize the slices for each classroom and hand them out. It takes about 30-45 minutes total (and extra slices go to volunteers!).

Grandparents are also welcome to volunteer!

The more volunteers we have, the less often each person has to come in. We hope to have a healthy list of volunteers to draw from. If you’d like to help, please contact the Pizza Coordinator at lakeviewpizzacoordinator@gmail.com.

Popcorn Days

Kernels Extraordinary PopcornWe are in need of a Popcorn Coordinator in order to have Popcorn Days this year. The Popcorn Coordinator organizes the Kernels popcorn bags for each class on popcorn days and orders more when it’s needed. Popcorn Days are every other Thursday.
