Volunteers needed for Family Movie Night

VolunteerWe are looking for a volunteer to run our Movie Night and a few additional volunteers to help out.

In past years the movie night has been a great community building activity. We take over the gym at Lakeview, families are invited to bring a comfy blanket and some pillows, and we settle in for a fun, family-oriented movie.

If this is your first time volunteering, we have many members of the council who will gladly provide information on how to set up a successful event.

If you are interested, please email Chair@lakeviewschoolcouncil.ca.

Volunteers needed for Mayfair

Planning for Mayfair, our biggest activity of the year is in full swing and we need your help!

We have many great Lead Volunteers, but we are in need of some additional help in a few key areas:

    • Food Organization (coordinate with different vendors/volunteers, organize purchase and pickup/delivery of food/beverages)
    • Book Fair (organize set up and tear down, coordinate volunteers)
    • Online Auction (organize distribution of items to winners)
    • Bike Parade (coordinate volunteers to set up and attend road barricades)

Mayfair cannot happen without these essential lead volunteers.

New volunteers don’t need to start from scratch as the parents who coordinated these events last year can provide all the necessary information.

Interested? Questions? Please email Chair@lakeviewschoolcouncil.ca.

Parent lead still needed for Ottawa 67s fundraiser

Lakeview has a fundraising opportunity with the Ottawa 67’s!

Our own choir (PercuChant) would sing during intermission in the concourse at the February 2, 2020, hockey game of the Ottawa 67s vs. the Soo Greyhounds. The School Council would sell tickets at a reduced cost to this game, and a portion of ticket sales goes directly to our school!

The Fundraising Coordinators have done a great job doing the initial planning, but the School Council is looking for a parent volunteer to take the lead for this event. No experience is required. You will have the support of our School Council, Fundraising Committee and of course the school!

If you are interested in helping out with his event or have more questions, please contact your Council’s Fundraising Leads, Sandra Pedersen and Leah Edmonds at lakeviewpsfundraising@gmail.com.
